Longboard season

Is the summer finally here? At least we thought so last Wednesday, sun was shining and the gravel was swept of the roads in Slottsskogen. That means, it was time for the first longboard gathering for the season! With about only three degrees Celsius in the air it was fairly cold. And without BBQ or beer the body temperature went quite low as well, but we managed to ride the slopes anyhow. Pictures are available in McB’s gallery.
One thing I’ve realized during these days with my Tunnel Comp is that it lacks the surf feeling that I’m after. My old Sector9 CR5 (CR2b) had a damn sweet carve (but is to short and soft for me), but the Tunnel Comp feels more like a stable downhill board. Nothing wrong with a wide, stable board, but it’s not what I want as a everyday board. So I decided that I needed something with the longboard and surf feeling to it. Something long. Something about 47.75 inch long. Something with a pintail. The classic Sector9 Pintail! In my case, with the Robb Havassy panting “420″ at its belly.
The Sector9 Pintail is as classic as a longboard can be, its shape, its length, its narrow width, and I felt at home on it immediately. Walking in at the post office after school, unpacking it at once and test riding it home. I loved it at once. Even though it’s longer then all other boards I’m used to, it handles well. Hopefully I’ll be satisfied now and stop spending money on new boards for a while…
To sum up this post, if the weather is nice, and not to cold, come visit us any Wednesday in Slottsskogen Gothenburg! You can’t miss 10 to 20 people on boards, with loud music having a BBQ in the main street of the park… Push, don’t pollute, and spread the stoke.
